This painting is from a photo I took while traveling by airplane. The sun set quickly, but not before I was able to capture this image. This painting won a First Prize in Landscapes at a show judged by the late Ann Templeton, a nationally known award winning artist.
As a child, I longed to be an artist. Having been raised in a family of singers and musicians, I gained an appreciation for all of the arts. I attended Principia College in Elsah, Illinois, where I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts, both Studio and Art History. During my senior year, I studied art, architecture, and sculpture via the great masterpieces in England, France, Holland, Germany, and Italy. Loving to draw and loving color, pastels turned out to be in perfect harmony with my work in landscapes, still life’s and animal portraits.
